The founder of Modmom furniture is a mom of 2 from Los Angeles who grew up around a carpenter dad while growing up in Ohio. What started out as a hobby building furniture for her family and friends, ended up as a business out of her garage.
Modmom builds custom furniture, available via email at her site or at her etsy shop at more affordable prices than some of the other high end children's designers. I think a few of her pieces are a bit too influenced by those same designers (Argington and Offi comes to mind), but it's worth checking out as she does beautiful work. I'll be keeping an eye out as she builds her company and continues to develop her own sense of design and style.
